Build a Ladder Golf Set this Father’s Day Weekend

Father’s Day weekend is right around the corner, which means summer weather and family time! Ladder golf is a fun and portable yard game, making it a great addition to your backyard, summer cottage or tailgate activities.

Ladder golf is similar to horseshoes in terms of rules. Using a PVC “ladder” structure and golf ball “bolas” — players score points by landing their bolas on different rungs of the ladders. Here’s a great breakdown of the rules if you’ve never played.

For this DIY, you’ll need some materials from your local hardware store.

Ladder Supplies:

  • 48′ of PVC pipe (3/4″)
  • 12 PVC elbows (3/4″)
  • 12 PVC T’s (3/4″)
  • PVC glue
  • Measuring tape
  • Sharpie
  • Spray paint (optional)

Bola Supplies:

  • 12′ of Twine (1/8″-3/16″ in diameter)
  • 6 white golf balls
  • 6 colored golf balls
  • Drill (and drill bit slightly larger than your twine)
